Overview
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Renovation. Commercial. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites.
- Supervise other workers.
Supervision
- 1 to 2 people. 3-4 people.
Certifications, licences, memberships, and courses
- Carpenter Trade Certification.
Transportation and travel
- Own transportation.
Work conditions and physical capabilities
- Bending, crouching, kneeling.
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
- Handling heavy loads.
