BUILDING PAINTER

Job Summary

Perform painting and surface-finishing work for construction or commercial projects by preparing surfaces, mixing materials, applying coatings, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect surfaces and review blueprints to determine specific painting requirements for each project
• Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, cleaning, and removing old paint to ensure proper adhesion
• Repair surface imperfections by filling cracks and holes with plaster or other materials to create smooth finishes
• Mix paints and finishes accurately to achieve the required color, texture, and consistency for each job
• Apply paint, varnish, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and caulking guns to deliver quality results
