Job Description
OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Engine Fitter to work onboard a bulk carrier, trading worldwide. You will be part of the deck and engine team, helping to keep the vessel in safe and good working condition.
- **Key responsibilities**:
- Carry out steel repairs, welding and cutting work as instructed
- Assist with maintenance and repair of deck and engine equipment
- Fabricate and fit metal parts, brackets and supports as needed
- Support planned maintenance and follow safety procedures at all times
- Work closely with officers and crew to complete repair jobs safely and on time
- **Requirements**:
- Previous seagoing experience as Engine Fitter on bulk carriers or similar vessels
- Strong skills in welding, cutting and metal fabrication
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good command of English
- Team player with a strong safety attitude and willingness to work worldwide
