Job Description
Ford of Canada’s Windsor Engine Plant/Essex Engine Plant is seeking a qualified technician to disassemble returned customer engines and perform detailed failure analysis. The successful candidate will be a member of the Salary Bargaining Unit‑Local 240.
What You’ll Do
Install and instrument engines, transmissions, and other powertrains on test cells.
Operate advanced dynamometer test equipment for functional, durability, and development testing, including building automated test schedules with safety and operating alarms.
Utilize diagnostic tools to adjust and resolve powertrain parameters according to engineering specifications.
Systematically dismantle and inspect engines, transmissions, and powertrains, performing visual and dimensional checks as per teardown analysis guides.
Calibrate instrumentation and measuring devices periodically.
Perform preventative maintenance on dynamometer test cell equipment.
