Java Developer (Core Java, Java 17 and above, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Kafka, MongoDB)

Location and Employment

Toronto, ON – Hybrid (4 days in office). Contract length: 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy RESTful APIs and microservices on cloud and containerized platforms such as AWS and OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Translate complex business workflows, including FIX protocols for trading and high‑throughput payment processing, into functional code, acting as a bridge between business analysts, quantitative researchers and software engineers.
• Optimize system performance by developing multi‑threaded, real‑time transaction processing code and reducing latency across distributed banking systems.
• Manage data flows using streaming platforms and message queues such as Apache Kafka and IBM MQ.
