Job Description

As a trusted UK Ministry of Defence partner, our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their Calibration & Maintenance Team. This varied and technically engaging role supports manufacturing across all stages of assembly, integration and test. You'll work within a driven, collaborative team, partnering with engineers and support functions to resolve routine and complex challenges. An HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to the Metrology Department at the Bolton site
Support calibration and maintenance of COTS (Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf) equipment and STTE (Special‑to‑Type Test Equipment)
Assist production teams with technical queries relating to fixtures and tooling
Support CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspection activities
Guide operators on best practices within the metrology function and respond to day‑to‑day technical queries
