Medical Instrument Technician (GI)

Summary The Medical Instrument Technician (MIT) is a member of the Gastroenterology Procedure Team (GPT) and provides assistance to the physician, nurse manager, registered nurse, and other team members during diagnostic examinations or medical treatment procedures as part of the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The work is performed in the Gastroenterology Unit of Medical Service. Responsibilities Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Major Duties Include, but are not limited to the following: Prepares procedural rooms for the performance of GI procedures. Ensures all patients are appropriately prepared with IV access as required for gastroenterological procedures, maintaining strict compliance with infection control standards Turns procedure rooms over within an average of ten-minute time frame.
