Job Description
We are seeking a practical and safety-focused Paving Operator to join our Dunedin team. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role operating asphalt paving plant to deliver high-quality, roading & footpath surfaces across the Otago region. The role involves operating and maintaining paving machinery, working closely with the crew to achieve program requirements, and ensuring all activities meet health, safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt paving machines, screeds and associated plant safely and efficiently to achieve specified pavement finish and tolerances.
- Carry out routine maintenance, pre‑start checks and daily inspections on plant and equipment; report defects and organise repairs as required.
- Promote and follow safe work practices; participate in toolbox talks, hazard identification and the implementation of control measures.
