This is a full-time position and, in accordance with Article 23 bis of the LCTI, it is a permanent position linked to the research line described above. The contract is funded by the research project “Extreme time and angular resolution in the optical with Cherenkov telescopes (MICROSTARS)” awarded through a competitive process and granted to CIEMAT by the European Research Council (ERC).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the scientific exploitation of rapid photometry data from MAGIC and LSTs: analysis and publication of related scientific articles.
  • Participate in the operation of the MAGIC and LST Telescopes.
  • Participate in the development of specialized analysis software for rapid optical observations using the MAGIC and LST Telescopes.
  • Develop statistical techniques for searching for optical transients with MAGIC and LSTs.
