Position: PhD Research Fellow in Active Learning for Arctic observing systems

Fellowship period: 3 years, with a possible 4th year at 25% workload (teaching, supervision, or research assistance), subject to applicant qualification and department needs.

No repeat appointments for PhD Fellowship at UiO.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an observing system for land‑atmosphere fluxes of carbon, water, and energy in Arctic environments.
  • Fuse observations from eddy flux towers, drones with meteorological sensors and gas analyzers, soil sensors, and satellite imagery with land‑surface models using data assimilation.
