Thorlabs is a dynamically growing company in the Photonics sector designing and manufacturing a broad range of optical components and systems. The Laser Systems and Technology (LST) Business Unit at Thorlabs focuses on developing and manufacturing complex and innovative laser systems such as femtosecond fiber lasers, supercontinuum sources, and low-noise laser systems. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic photonics engineer to join our LST group located in the Washington metro area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in photonics, including hands-on experience with optical fiber components, optical characterization instruments, and laser systems. Additionally, knowledge and hands-on experience with programming languages, particularly for remote instrument control will be a plus. This role involves working closely with our R&D, engineering and manufacturing teams to test photonics devices and systems.
