Job Description
• Provide support to patients dealing with substance abuse, which is often accompanied by emotional trauma, and behavioral health issues.
• Work as a team member to achieve patient outcomes that are positive and long lasting.
• Complete a physical assessment at intake.
• Call the physician for orders, and any changes in patient’s condition.
• Follow physician orders as written in the treatment plan for each patient.
• Monitor withdrawal based on CIWA, COWS or CINA.
• Implement treatment plans and update them as the patient’s condition improves.
• Educate patients on their conditions, in a way they understand.
• Administer medication specific to the client’s plan of care as determined by the physician.
• Document all nursing care provided to the client in the formal medical record.
• Maintain professional boundaries with the clients in order for them to learn boundaries.
