Sandblaster
Location: Wheeling, West Virginia 26003
Starting Pay: $14-25 an hour based on skills & experience
Shifts: M-F 1st & 2nd shift that rotate
A Sandblaster is responsible for cleaning, smoothing, or preparing surfaces by using abrasive materials such as sand, grit, or other blasting media. This process is commonly used to remove rust, paint, scale, or contaminants from metal, wood, concrete, or other surfaces. Sandblasters work in industries such as manufacturing, construction, automotive, shipbuilding, and metal fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
•Set up and operate sandblasting equipment, including air compressors, blast pots, and nozzles.
• Prepare surfaces by masking or covering areas not to be blasted.
• Select and load appropriate abrasive materials based on the job specifications.
• Use compressed air to propel abrasives at high speed to clean or prepare surfaces.
