The incumbent is accountable for the safe, productive and efficient execution of Steel work at Victoria Shipyards. Responsibilities include providing direction to charge-hands and the steel fitting workforce for all projects carried out within the shipyard, ensuring they are appropriately manned and supervised to meet schedule and customer requirements, and that all work is carried out in accordance with shipyard safety, quality and classification society standards and procedures. The incumbent shall provide support for departmental leadership, direction and motivation, ensuring that acceptable productivity and quality levels are consistently maintained. The incumbent shall provide assistance in the initiative and direction for continued process improvement within the welding department.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 825 Admirals Road, Victoria.
