About the Role:
As a Trainee Line Mechanic, you’ll support our crews in theconstruction and maintenance of overhead electrical lines. You’ll receive
ongoing training, mentoring, and development opportunities while completing
block courses and working toward industry recognised qualifications.
This is a physical, outdoors role where no two days are the
same. You’ll learn how to safely operate equipment, work at heights, and
contribute to building and maintaining essential network infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assisting with the construction and maintenance of electrical lines to meet customer and network requirements
- Learning to develop work plans for overhead lines and equipment
- Operating ground and structure‑mounted electrical equipment up to 33kV (with training)
- Installing, replacing, and maintaining poles, structures, and conductors
- Overhauling non‑load-bearing hardware on networks up to 110kV
