Job Overview

The City of Galion is seeking a Wastewater Plant Assistant Superintendent for our Class III Wastewater Treatment Plant. This exempt, unclassified position is responsible for assisting the superintendent in overseeing and directing the day-to-day activities and operation of the wastewater treatment plant and its staff to ensure regulatory compliance. The candidate will provide backup support as needed, ensuring efficient operation of the facility and all components of the wastewater treatment process; assist in coordinating and preparing operation and maintenance reports; supervise and perform preventive and maintenance repairs; and provide staff leadership. The role also includes managing the industrial pretreatment and MS4 programs and serving as the backup operator of record with the Ohio EPA.
